Chat privacy and visitor data

What Zinn® Chat stores about website visitors, what it does not, and how long conversations are kept.

The chat keeps what a conversation needs and nothing more.

What is kept
The messages, the page and page title the visitor was on, where they came from, their browser language and browser, and any name or email address they choose to give.
What is not
No IP address and no fingerprint. The visitor's country comes from the network edge and is not stored as an address.
In the visitor's browser
Only the conversation's reference is kept, in local storage, so a page refresh keeps the thread. No cookies are set.
How long
On Free, conversations are deleted after 30 days. On Premium, they are kept for as long as your account is open.

Mention the chat in your own privacy notice, as you would any tool that receives messages from your visitors.
